The week after Easter, our youth went to Bohol for a week long youth camp hosted by Word of Life. It was a great week of relational growth - with each other, with other youth from Bohol, and most importantly with God. The theme was "Unbreakable," as they learned what it means to have a truly unbreakable relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Check out the video below for a glimpse into the fun and fellowship they had throughout the week.

For those of you who don't know, we are (and have been for a while now) back in our spot in SM Consolacion. Sorry for the delay in updating you! We hope you can join us every Sunday at 10:30am on the second floor of SM Consolacion, in the corner between Jag and David's Salon.
The last Sunday in May, May 28, will be Pathway Community Church's final service in SM Consolacion - at least for the next two months. Due to some policy issues with SM, we are being forced to move out and meet somewhere else temporarily. For full disclosure, we wanted to share with you why we have to move and, of course, where we will be meeting!
You may or may not know the incredible story of how God worked to allow us to worship in SM in the first place. We have a fairly large space (300 sq. meters) in a high traffic area of the second floor of SM. Needless to say, this is a coveted (and therefore expensive) "storefront." In fact, SM was/is asking for close to 250,000 pesos per month in order to be a full-time tenant in that spot. Because we are obviously a not-for-profit church in our very beginning stages of existence, there was no way we could (or can) afford that price. However, through what was nothing short of a miracle by God, SM decided to accept us into that spot as an "exhibit," thus allowing us to have it at a fraction of the cost. With all the different expenses factored in, we have only been paying not quite 30,000 pesos per month for that space. Truly incredible and only by the grace and work of God! Well that brings us to where we are today, a year and a half later. It has come to our attention (and the attention of the SM management here in Consolacion) that we have actually far exceeded our allowed time as an "exhibit." Exhibits are technically only allowed to be there for three months at a time, with the option to apply for an additional three month extension. After that maximum of six months, though, the exhibit is forced to vacate the spot for at least two months. We were never made aware of this until just a couple months ago - despite having been there for a year and a half already. So in order to comply with the wishes and requirements of SM, we are being asked to leave for a two month period. Despite our efforts to work something else out, there is no way around it. So we have been searching for a temporary (or ideally, permanent) meeting place. Through much effort and praying, we have determined that God has opened up the clubhouse of the Royale Cebu Estates subdivision as our next meeting place - at least for the next two months. We will likely move back to SM after these two months, but that decision has yet to be finalized. Please continue to pray with us as we seek the Lord's wisdom, guidance, and direction for where He wants His church long-term. For those who will join us at the RCE subdivision, you can reference the map below for directions. Heading south on the highway from SM, you will turn right just prior to reaching Fooda. The subdivision will be just ahead of you, up the hill. After you enter the subdivision, the clubhouse will be there on your left. Thanks for your prayers and we look forward to seeing how God uses Pathway in a powerful way in this new location! Pathway Consolacion's Emerge youth had their summer retreat this past Sunday into Monday (April 30-May 1). It was an amazing event with 40 young people clearly hearing the good news and amazing grace of Jesus Christ! It is incredible to see the way that God is working in and through the youth that He has brought to us here at Pathway. If you are a high school or college student and you're not plugged in yet to our Emerge group, you are missing out! Get connected now by showing up to Pathway Consolacion any Sunday at 2:30pm for our regular Emerge meetings.
Our Pathway Consolacion team had the amazing opportunity during Holy Week to perform an Easter special in the main entertainment of SM Consolacion! Our praise & worship team put on a worship concert, and our young people in Emerge performed a drama put to music. It was a powerful event in which Jesus' name was boldly pronounced throughout all of SM! We have attached the link to our Facebook Live video of the event below. Enjoy! :)
Sunday, October 2nd, our second church plant, Pathway Community Church - Consolacion, celebrated its first anniversary! It's been an absolutely amazing first year of life. God has worked in truly incredible ways to allow Pathway Consolacion to not just survive its first year, but truly THRIVE (which was the theme of our anniversary celebration). Our prayer is that God continues to grow us in ways only He could in the coming years! Check out the many photos we have while we celebrated what God has done!
This past Friday (May 27), we had our first ever combined Emerge outing! As most of you already know, Emerge is the name of our student ministry here at Pathway. It also covers our young professionals as well. In order to celebrate another great summer and to take advantage of our final days of freedom before school restarts, we had a combined Emerge outing. Both Emerge Mandaue and Emerge Consolacion came together in Catmon for an incredibly fun day of team-building games, delicious food, refreshing dips into the sea, and great fellowship! The goal of the day was to create unity between our two sets of young people (in Mandaue and Consolacion), as well as to engage each student in intentional discipleship. We really look forward to seeing how God uses this event as we move forward in our ministry to the students at Pathway Community Church!
Check out some of the pictures below to see all the fun we had with the 40+ participants! To God be the glory for the work He's doing in the lives of so many young people in this area! On Sunday, March 20th, we had a beautiful celebration of God's faithfulness over the first ten years of Pathway's existence. Pathway Consolacion came down to join with Pathway Mandaue in the celebration. It was really great to have both congregations joining together to worship our God.
Here at Pathway, we love many things: children, youth, exciting worship, basketball, lechon, and the list goes on! But there are few things we love more than seeing Christ change lives. One of the ways we like to celebrate those changed lives is through baptism. We recently had the exciting privilege of baptizing TEN believers at Pathway Mandaue. To God be the glory!!! |
